Q&A with Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam
How would you describe your style?
My style is feminine, classic, and colorful.
Here at LYLIF we are huge fans of your blog – what first inspired you to start?
I started my blog to originally share my favorite fashion finds on the web and it eventually led to me wanting to share my personal style with others.
How did you come up with name of your blog Gal Meets Glam?
I wanted something that described my style in a couple of words. Since I am one to always be more dressed up than everyone else, “Gal Meets Glam” came to my mind. I love to glam every day, even if it’s just adding red lipstick to my jean shorts and sandals!
Where do you go to get inspired?
I get inspired from other bloggers, magazines, beautiful clothes, and art.
How do you keep your wardrobe fresh and exciting?
I love to mix my clothes around and wear them in different ways, that way it feels like I’m wearing something new even if it’s old. Adding simple things like a bold necklace is a great way to keep your outfits looking fresh and new.
Who are some of your fashion icons?
My top three fashion icons are: Joanna Hillman, Olivia Polermo, and Rachel Zoe.
What are some fall trends you are looking forward to?
My favorite Fall trends are capes, midi skirts & dresses, polka dots, and jewel tones.
Your blog has had practically overnight success-What is some advice you can give to others wanting to start a fashion blog?
My advice would to others would be to write about what you love and what inspires you. I think that when you are passionate about something, it shows through and others will catch on.
If you could go back to any era what would it be and why?
Oh, I would LOVE to go back to the 40s and 50s! I love how dressed up women would get for every day and how feminine all of their outfits were. Also, the hair and makeup was just completely glam
Well that’s it for today friends, until next time!
